Hair Extension Aftercare Guide

Looking after your extensions properly is the key to keeping them looking healthy, smooth, and beautiful for as long as possible. Here’s everything you need to know to get the best results from your new hair:

Brushing & Daily Care
Brush your extensions 2–3 times a day using an extension-safe brush.
Always support the roots with your hand to avoid tension.
Brush gently from the ends upward to prevent pulling.
Washing Your Hair
Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo & conditioner.
Avoid applying conditioner directly to the roots or attachment points.
Wash in a downward motion — no scrubbing or rough rubbing.
Always fully rinse out products to avoid build-up.

Drying & Styling
Gently towel-dry by squeezing (never rubbing).
Always dry your roots 100% to prevent slipping.

Limit heat styling and always use a heat protectant.
Avoid high heat directly on beads, tapes, or wefts.

Sleeping With Extensions
Sleep with your hair in a loose braid or low ponytail.
Use a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and keep your hair smooth.

Swimming, Gym & Holidays
Tie your hair up before swimming; avoid saltwater & chlorine where possible.
After swimming or sweating, rinse and dry your roots promptly.

Use protective products, but avoid oils near the roots.
Maintenance Appointments
Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your extensions healthy and preventing damage.
